A single reporting period captured approximately $170 million in net inflows to spot Bitcoin ETFs against an $11 million net outflow from spot Ethereum ETFs. The media's translation: institutional preference is hardening around BTC. The translation I'd offer after a decade of reading on-chain data: this is an unverified figure with no date, no source, and no methodology. That's not analysis. That's narrative wearing a lab coat. Follow the ETH, not the headline.
The omission matters. ETF flow numbers are not like blocks — they don't self-validate. There is no consensus mechanism certifying that $170 million figure. It arrives through a reporting chain of issuers, aggregators, and journalists, each layer adding interpretation. Before I treat that number as truth, I want the raw transaction log.
